Can I buy generic brand prescriptions even though my doctor prescribed me a brand name medication?

A: When a prescription is written if the doctor does not specify, a patients prescription may be filled for the generic or brand. 


Will my insurance cover any prescription medicine I purchase?

A: Insurances have a formulary of medications that they will cover. If the medication is prescribed from the formulary the insurance will cover and the patient pays a copay, 
If the medication is not covered the pharmacy will reach out to the doctor to notify that the medication is not covered and possibly prescribe an alternate medication. 

If the doctor prescribes a brand a patient can request that the generic be filled and the pharmacy will contact the physician.
